Dear Bobcat Families & Staff,

In Hempstead ISD, we started this year with the rally cry: Be Bold! Be Clear! Be Better! Our teachers and school community were fired up to begin the year with that mindset. As you know, the State of Texas holds high expectations for all of us, and those expectations serve as a roadmap to ensure we are providing students with a high-quality education. We know our students should be achieving and growing each year, and I am proud of our teachers who have answered the call to move Hempstead ISD toward becoming one of the highest-performing districts in our area. Not only are we focused on academic excellence, but we are also doing the work to ensure that every student has a bright and promising future beyond graduation from Hempstead High School. Families, please join us as we continue working to accelerate the academic performance of all students. 

As we wrap up the first nine weeks of school, parents/guardians, please take time to utilize the parent/teacher conferences that will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 21. Teachers and administrators should have reached out to you about this. If you have questions about your child’s academic performance, please contact your child’s campus. Additionally, please take time to talk with your child about their academic progress. We want them to have satisfactory grades as we complete the first 9 weeks of school. October 20-21 are student holiday/staff professional development days. Classes resume on Wednesday, October 22. 

I am excited to personally invite you to the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the new Hempstead Early Childhood Center. This event will take place at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, October 29, at 9thand Shepard.  I want to thank you for believing in Hempstead ISD so that our students can have facilities that match the expectations of our academic progress.

I want to take a moment to recognize all of our students who represent Hempstead ISD with pride and dedication, from football, volleyball, and cheer to band, color guard, FFA, theatre, UIL academics, middle school athletics, and our athletic trainers. You continue to display teamwork, talent, and school spirit in everything you do. Our Hempstead High School Bobcat Band will be participating in the UIL Region Marching Contest at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 21, at Waller ISD Stadium. Thank you all for proudly representing Hempstead ISD and showing what it means to be a Bobcat!

As we continue this journey, let’s stay focused on what unites us: a belief in our students and a shared commitment to their success. Together, we’re not just moving forward; we’re reaching #HigherHeights.

Hempstead ISD will host theHempstead Early Childhood CenterGroundbreaking Ceremony to celebrate the construction of the new campus from 5 to 6 p.m. on October 29, 2025.

Hempstead ISD campuses will host Thanksgiving Dinner November 18-20. All tickets must be purchased in advance. The cost is $6 per dinner.

Tickets will be sold at each campus in the front office. To find out your child's lunch time or for more information, contact your child's campus.

Hempstead High School Bobcat Band will be participating in the UIL Region Marching Contest at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 21, at Waller ISD Stadium.

Hempstead High School hosts its annual College Fair. The College Fair brought out more than 50 universities, colleges, trade schools, and military representatives.

Families, students, and staff came together for our annual Fall Festival filled with games, treats, and fun. From ring toss and face painting to bowling and a cupcake walk, there was something for everyone to enjoy.
