Dear Bobcat Families & Staff,
Spring Break is here! It is my hope that all of you have a great week with family and friends. It’s always nice to spend some time resting and reflecting.
I wanted to give you an update on the construction from Bond 2024. I know that you have seen lots of activity taking place by Hempstead High School, Hempstead Middle School, and at the new Hempstead Early Childhood Center. We are moving full steam ahead in all locations. Thank you to our students, staff, and leaders for being flexible during the beginning stages of the needed additions and updates to our campuses. Construction will start at Hempstead Elementary School and the Baseball Field soon, which means our entire district will be under construction. I can’t wait to see the final product.
March is set aside as Theatre In Our Schools Month, so we want to celebrate our award-winning theater program. They competed last night and won first place in the District UIL One-Act Play competition. They received a unanimous 1st Place Rating from all three judges. Way to Go Bobcats!
I'd also like to celebrate our soccer and baseball teams for their wins and for competing well this season. We are also excited about our softball and track teams. Keep competing Bobcats! I wish everyone a safe Spring Break. We look forward to learning at a high level when we return to continue our rise to #HigherHeights!

STEM Day Sparks Curiosity and Ignites Future Innovators |
Seventh-grade students at Hempstead Middle School stepped into the world of exploration and discovery, thanks to a STEM Day hosted by cadets from the United States Military Academy at West Point and Prairie View A&M University.

| Hempstead ISD Transportation Employee Receives First Place in Bus Rodeo |
Hempstead ISD Transportation substitute bus driver, Kyle Guttridge, received first place in the Gulf Coast Association for Pupil Transportation School Bus Rodeo. This competitive event tests school bus drivers' skills through a rigorous course, testing their safety knowledge and ability to navigate complex obstacles. Guttridge will now move on to the state competition. |

The Hempstead ISD Board of Trustees met on Monday, February 23, 2026. During the board meeting, a Public Hearing on the 2024-2025 Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR) was held.
