Dear Team Hempstead,
I hope you were able to take time to enjoy your extra day off. It was an incredibly beautiful day. I say this a lot, but it is so important to take days for yourself where you do not do any work. While work is inevitable, you cannot forget those that are most important to you in your life. Remember as Bobcat staff members we work hard at work, and when we are not at work we should find time to focus on ourselves or those that matter the most to us.
Most of my weekly messages are about instruction and Teaching & Learning. However, I did want to take the time to bring your attention that our Board of Trustees called for a May 4, 2024 Bond on Thursday, February 15. Please take a moment to watch the video and read the story so that you can be informed. Also, take some time to review the Bond 2024 website for any questions you may have at this time. I will continue to provide more information so that each of you can be fully informed as we move forward. Additionally, we will be hosting campus and community informational sessions in the coming months. I would like to take a moment to encourage you to verify that you are registered to vote. Early voting for the Primary Election is February 20-March 1 and Election Day is March 5. Voting is a great way to help shape the future of the community. If you are voting, showcase your I VOTED sticker with us by tagging #HempsteadVotes. We will feature your photo on our social media channels. For more information on voting you can visit the state voter registration website.
Thank you for keeping the students of Hempstead ISD at the center of what you do. I also wanted to take a moment to highlight three of our band students who will be going to State in Solo and Ensemble in May.
Congratulations to the following Hempstead High School band students:
Damian Vega-Stephens on Trombone
Sleight Laesser on Bassoon
Brianna Rodriguez on French Horn
We are better together, as we move to #HigherHeights. Have a great week!
